Sarah is hosting a permablitz at her house in Northcote. This is instead of a December PIN meeting. Those involved in PIN have first option to RSVP before the Permablitz is put through the Permablitz Melbourne website.

The Northcote backyard will be transformed into a lovely, no-dig vegie garden surrounded by over 25 potted fruit trees. Activities for the day include: constructing a no-dig vegie patch and herb spiral and installing drip irrigation and rain harvest system. The backyard is small so numbers are limited.

Please bring tools, including shovels, and newspaper or cardboard (for the no-dig bed). Donations of plants will not be refused! Food provided.

Fairfield CG food forest

Our August PIN meeting was at Fairfield Community Garden where we planted a food forest. The conditions were very difficult in this strip of land but the plucky fruit trees are barrelling ahead as you can see.

Future Sustainable Living Events
If you have a sustainable living skill you would like to share, then I'd love if you could put your hand up. Previous such events include making tomato sauce , sausage, and now lemon cordial, but it could be any skill (including outside kitchen) of making or fixing that helps us tread lighter on the earth.
